Rapid Fire: I Thought I Knew My Favorite Indian Dish

We did a rapid fire round again, but this time it was all food.

Aswin gave me two Indian dishes at a time and I had to pick my favorite. Sounds easy, right? But some of these pairings were mean. 😅

There was one dish that just kept winning round after round early on. Then Aswin brought up Adai, this lentil crepe from the Chettinadu region that you barely find in restaurants, even in Tamil Nadu. Talking about it was fun, but it didn't change my answer.

And then a dish I wasn't even thinking about showed up and completely flipped the game.

I didn't expect it, honestly, and it's not fancy. It's just simple and comforting. Which one do you think it is?

Living in India long term changes how you eat, as everything that feels exciting and new at first slowly becomes your normal, and that's exactly how some of these dishes stopped being an adventurous choice and turned into my comfort food.
