Our Hindu Wedding - Latina and Indian

When we decided to get married, we knew we wanted to celebrate both of our cultures—Indian and Colombian. In 2024, we married (for the second time) in the Hindu tradition.

We didn’t expect how magical and emotional it would be to bring our worlds together in such ancient rituals.

• The wedding followed traditional Hindu rituals that Aswin’s South Indian family has followed for generations. It was full of colors, mantras, flowers, turmeric, and fire.

  
  

• One of our favorite moments was seeing our families, especially Luisa’s parents, wearing Indian clothes and enjoying every part of the rituals, even if they didn’t understand them. The love and curiosity from both sides made it all feel warm and special.

It wasn’t perfect or fancy. But it was us. Real, full of emotion, and with meaning.
